Inspirational Quote: "Amat Victoria Curam" - Victory loves careful preparation.
Biography: My journey starts in Bergen Norway. My family and I lived there until I was 8 years old. Bergen is an absolutely breathtaking city aesthetically, with mountains overlooking the fjords in the harbour. After Norway we moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. I refer to Winnipeg as my "City of Dreams." It is a big city for Canadian standards. Yet, it has a small town feel of a blue collar, tight knit community. Winnipeg is very passionate about their sports and community, which bodes great for me. My family currently resides there now.

As soon as we moved to Winnipeg my parents got me involved in sports. I started playing recreationally at Minnetonka and St. Emile School. Sports were especially beneficial for me while moving in to a new country. I met a lot of people through playing and competing. I instantly fell in love with basketball. I was fortunate enough to play throughout high school representing J.H. Bruns Collegiate and the Manitoba Provincial Team. At the tender age of 17 I took my talents to Cadboro Beach... in Victoria, British Columbia. I attended the University of Victoria while playing basketball for the University of Victoria Vikes. I learned many important life lessons during my playing days such as the importance of practice, how to face adversity and teamwork. In the summers, I had the opportunity to travel and educate youth on some of these lessons that I learned from sport. I coached for the University of Victoria Vikes Sports Camps, Mac Bros Basketball Camps and The Passion Sports Basketball Academy across British Columbia and the Yukon Territories. From coaching and working with the youth in the community, I gained a passion for educating.
I completed my Bachelors of Education degree in 2012. My love for educating and sports were further fueled by working with some of most driven, and positively influential staff and students at St. Michaels University School and at Oak Bay High School. I then moved to Cairo, Egypt to teach Physical Education and Social Studies at The British Columbia Canadian International School. I had the opportunity to work with confident, energetic and passionate staff and students.
My journey now brings me to Luxu, Jiangsu, China. I am currently teaching and coaching at a Sino Canada High School. The community of Luxu, Shinta and Sino-Canada has truly made me feel as if I am one of their own. I have been blessed with positive experiences from sports and travelling. I look forward continuing my journey through Asia; meeting great people and helping provide youth with the opportunities of sport in any way that I can.
Expectations of the journey: I expect us to meet a lot of friendly, passionate people along the way. I also plan on taking the "Yellow Jersey" at each stage of our "Tour De Cuba" race. I am planning on smiling a lot and hopefully we provide the people we meet with a few reasons to smile as well.
Most memorable journey: My most memorable journey was my solo, lone wolf tour through Thailand. It was my first back packing trip and it was my first trip by myself. Thailand is a gorgeous country. I enjoyed meeting people from different parts of the world, mixing and mingling with the locals and finding my own independence as well.
Best assets you will bring to the journey: I will bring 230lbs of pure power! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wh6mghZbLU I'll also sprinkle in some hard work, perseverance and a sense of humour.
Thank you all for your support.
