Day 22 Ledu to Xining

Today we made a stop at the post office in Ledu to pickup equipment and the locals were surprised to see the "loawais." I over heard a conversation between two old cats about their thoughts about our journey..."Zhèxiē wàiguó rén shì fēngle baby! These foreigners are crazy baby! Wǒ zhīdà máoróngrōng de rén yǐjīng shīqùle tā de tóunǎo...I know...the hairy one has lost his mind..." My favorite part of our journey has been interacting with the people. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to give back and tour this amazing country.
今天我们在乐都的邮局签收我们的器材，一些当地人看到我们这两个“老外”时很惊讶。我听到其中两个人讨论我们的旅程…“这些外国人是疯了吧！”“我知道，毛茸茸的人已经失去了他的头脑…”一路上最让我开心的就是和这些人打交道了。我们很幸运能有这样的机会来边做善事边游历这个地大物博的国家。

It is important to be alert at all times when you are on the road...Yesterday, a crazy pig got loose out of his pen and was running around the road embracing his freedom...The pig almost got hit by a car and almost speared Ho Young off his bike....but in the end no harm was done to the pig or Ho Young...My job is to protect my student, but wild pigs....I can't control! This trip has been very educational for Ho Young and myself. We are learning about the land, religion, history of cities, inhabitants of specific regions and cultural traditions. Ho Young has also been learning that if a women thinks you are 24 years old, you kindly respond by saying, "actually I am 27 years old finishing up medical school and volunteering my spare time to humanitarian work..." Ho Young is eager to learn and is an individual who is true to himself. I respect that quality about him because at times people tend to lose themselves and veer off in the wrong direction...but Mr.Yoo has strong beliefs that guide him in the right direction and it has been a privilege to ride along side this amazing young man.
在旅行时，时刻保持警惕很重要。昨天，一只疯狂的猪在路上到处狂奔…这只猪差点被车撞了，也差点害得小柳同学从自行车上摔下来…最后小柳同学和猪都没受伤…我的职责是保护我们学生，但是猪嘛…我就没法控制了！这个旅行对我和小柳同学都很有教育意义。我们了解了地理，宗教，城市的历史，一些地区特有的住宅和文化传统。小柳同学也学会，如果一个女人认为你有24岁，你就和蔼地回答“其实我今年27岁，快从医学院毕业了，在假期里做一些人道主义慈善工作。”小柳同学很有求知欲，也很真诚。我很看重他的这些品质，因为人们常常失去自我，因而走很多弯路…但是小柳同学有强烈的信念，指引着他走向正确的道路。能和这样的有为青年在一起骑车真是难得。

I feel blessed that I have the privilege to follow my dreams and share my passion with the people of China. It is difficult to predict the outcome of our efforts, but I hope it provides people with an opportunity to enjoy themselves and feel inspired by our energy. It is important to share your passion because you never know whose life you will change....
我觉得我很幸运，因为我敢追逐自己的梦想并且与中国人民分享我的激情。我们的努力的结果是未知的，但是我希望这能给人们提供一个机会去感受快乐，被我们的力量而鼓舞。分享你的激情很重要，因为你永远不知道你会改变谁的人生…

Tomorrow we will be heading out to Qinghai Lake which is 150 km from our destination. We will be on our horses early in the morning...goodnight.
明天我们会向着150公里外的青海湖前进。我们会很早骑车出发…晚安。
